DHS Doorknock in the Seattle Area

On Tuesday July 15 a Seattle area activist was visited at their home by 2 Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents. The 2 officers approached the home and knocked on the front door. The person inside was expecting a friend over so they opened the door – but ended the interaction quickly. The two officers explained that they wanted to ask questions about property damage at the DHS facility in Tukwila, WA. The person told them that they would not be answering questions and had no intentions of ever speaking to investigators. The two officers continued to attempt to question the individual, who reasserted their stance of noncooperation and shut the door. The two agents then left the property. The interaction lasted only a few minutes.

After the interaction the individual who was approached reached out to both the National Lawyers Guild federal defense hotline and to us at PSPS. They also began alerting their communities that a door knock had happened. All of these are integral parts of keeping broader community safe.

In instances like these, it is important to treat the situation with measured caution and avoid speculation and paranoia. Our movements are attempting to address injustices being perpetrated by powerful states – there will be moments of repression and intimidation by state agencies. What we can do as a broader community is refuse to isolate those targeted by the state, maintain a holistic security culture among ourselves, and support those facing repression.

Here are some points to remember for if and when an agent knocks:

  1. Don’t panic. Federal agents knocking on doors does not necessarily mean arrests are right around the corner. Don’t let them intimidate you into making bad decisions.
  2. Do not talk to them. If you are stopped on the street, at work, at home – you do not need to talk to federal agents. Close the door, walk away. Say nothing.
  3. Communication is key. If you have been approached it is important that you let the broader community know. It’s not sketchy to talk about what the feds have done – they know they’ve done it. Info to relay: *Date & time of stop. *Location (at a home/at a workplace). *Agencies involved, if you don’t know that’s ok! Don’t guess. But if they ID themselves use that info- insignias on vehicles, badges or shirts are good. *Questions- if they did ask anything, be sure to mention what was asked about (“They asked questions about the BLM movement” or “They asked about individuals involved with XYZ activity”.
  4. Don’t Guess! If you don’t have info about what they wanted, don’t make guesses as to what it is about — this can cause extra panic or connect dots that the feds didn’t already make. They don’t know everything.
  5. Be Honest! Be clear that the intended target of the stop did not talk to the feds. If an unfortunate situation happened and people did answer questions, be open and transparent about that. Be clear that the target’s intention is to not cooperate — people are often caught off guard and answer the door without checking who is there, or answering a yes or no question before disengaging — this does not mean they are cooperating with the feds. They should communicate to the community that they have or will contact a lawyer and the National Lawyer’s Guild fed hotline.
  6. Post the info about the interaction publicly. Share facts, not implications or insinuations. If you’re not sure what to report or how to do it, contact PSPS (psps@riseup.net) Once the information is public, everyone can and should repost it and share it as widely as possible so we can all stay informed, safe, and aware.
  7. Call the NLG federal defense hotline (212-679-2811) at any point in this process. They are a very solid resource that people should take advantage of.

Prairieland Defendants – 11 charged after July 4th shooting at North Texas ICE facility (USA)

Prairieland Defendants Support Group Releases Statement and Begins Fundraiser

Dallas-Fort Worth, TX — Today, members of the DFW Support Committee, a group supporting the 11 Prairieland Detention Center arrestees, released a public statement and legal support fundraiser. On July 4th, a group of people protested against the kidnappings and renditions of ICE at the Prairieland Detention Center. By the next day, 10 people were arrested and their loved ones and friends were scrambling to locate them and find out what had happened to them. On July 6th, the spouse of one of the defendants was arrested by the FBI and later charged with obstruction of justice. The police’s story did not make sense to the arrestees’ loved ones and friends, so they began organizing to free the arrestees. Recognizing a need to raise funds to support the defendants and to address the political context in which this is occurring, the DFW Support Committee is releasing a statement and starting a fundraiser for defendants.

The committee’s statement has been released after the arrestees were subsequently charged by the US Department of Justice in a charging document that frames the protest as a violent ambush. Additionally, the spouse of one of the initial defendants was detained by the FBI. The statement categorically rejects this narrative and suggests instead that, “The glaring inconsistencies in the official narrative and the alarmist accusations are a clear attempt to bolster the Trump administration’s claims that the United States is on the verge of chaos, warranting a dramatic increase in militarized police action.”

In addition to the statement, the committee has launched a fundraiser for the defendants. This fundraiser’s description states that it is intended to “raise legal fees and living expenses for all those facing repression connected to the protest at the Prairieland Detention Center.” At the time of release, over $11,000 has been raised.

The government’s accusations revolve around an injury claimed to have been sustained by a police officer on the evening of July 4th. It is alleged that a number of people at the demonstration opened fire on at least one police officer, while one officer is claimed to have been struck in the neck. This injured officer was released from the hospital within hours. The North Texas US District Attorney’s office has rushed to make these accusations yet has not met even its basic obligations around ensuring defendants’ rights to legal representation, to understand the charges against them, or to even have contact with their loved ones.
The statement is below.

Statement from the DFW Support Committee on the Prairieland Defendants

Texans are facing increasing repression by both the federal and state governments. Those on the frontlines of protecting people targeted by the state are especially being met with this repression in spite of our constitutional right to protest and dissent. Instead of listening to us, the government is arresting protestors, creating false narratives about their actions, and wholly ignoring their own obligation to due process.

Acknowledging this, we have formed a committee of loved ones, friends and comrades of defendants who are committed to supporting them through the legal process and have experience with legal support and anti-repression organizing.

We do not know what happened at the Prairieland Detention Center on July 4th, but we do know that 11 people were arrested and still sit in jail without legal representation. The framing of the case by the federal government should be concerning to all of us. The glaring inconsistencies in the official narrative and the alarmist accusations are a clear attempt to bolster the Trump administration’s claims that the United States is on the verge of chaos, warranting a dramatic increase in militarized police action. This, in turn, will almost certainly be used as a justification for broader expansion of repression not only of popular movements but all political activity in opposition to Trump and his regime. As such, what is happening to the 11 people connected to the Prairieland Detention Center protest should be a concern for anyone who does not want to see this country descend further into authoritarianism.

The Trump administration has consistently shown that it lies and distorts facts to advance its political narratives. In particular, they created news and propaganda that seem to confirm the far-right conspiracy theories that have fed Trump’s rise to power. Time and again these narratives have been proven false and dangerous.

These 11 people are some of the first arrested under this unbelievable narrative, but we should expect this sort of repression to spread further and wider. Trump does not distinguish between these defendants, Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic Socialists of America, 50501, or anyone else standing against him. They are coming for undocumented migrants, they are coming for supporters of Palestine, they are coming for those protesting ICE’s violence.

The first months of this administration have been a disaster. People have been kidnapped in broad daylight by masked agents and sent to hellish prison camps in other countries, with detention centers like Prarieland as stopping points along the way. Natural disasters have killed hundreds with little warning or care from the government, and even now we’re still trying to count the losses from flooding in North Texas. Decades of advancement in public health have being eviscerated: measles killed more children in Texas in the last month than in the last 30 years. Transgender people are being erased from our society. US-made bombs are slaughtering millions around the world. The list goes on. People see the nightmare that is unfolding, and the state is furiously looking for ways to distract, confuse, immobilize, and terrify. In this context, it should be clear that these recent criminal charges in Alvarado, Texas, are a dangerous and unconscionable stunt in service of this goal.

We are all affected by these disasters already, but criminalization of protest means that we risk arrest and worse as the state moves to crush everyone under its power.

However, the people of this country will not accept authoritarian rule. From the initial waves of protest, resistance and antagonism have generalized and deepened. It has involved not only elected officials and formal organizations, but more importantly, millions of ordinary people taking bold action to protect their communities and reclaim their autonomy. This spreading resistance has been met with violent state repression such as deployment of active duty military on the streets of Los Angeles and the arrest of sitting judges and US senators. Now the state is attempting to ruin the lives of 11 people and their communities in North Texas. It is clear that no amount of appeasement and capitulation will stop these threats to our freedoms. We must then support those facing repression and not bow to this state terror.

This is a historic moment and what will happen next is not clear. What we do know is that the best chance for all of us to live full and free lives is to join together and be brave. We in the DFW Support Committee have no choice but to push forward and fight for those we care deeply about who are currently sitting in jail. To the rest of you, we call on you to join us in our support. We will be releasing future updates and statements about concrete actions people can take. The first and most important action today is raising funds so that these 11 people have the best legal defense possible. Tyre Extinguishers Sabotage 100 SUVs And Pick-Up Trucks In Elmira, Ontario

On July 21, Tyre Extinguishers deflated the tyres of 100 SUVs and pick-up trucks, disrupting their ability to be driven.
This was done to bring attention to the immense danger these gas guzzlers present to the environment, pedestrians, cyclists and other motorists.

They are not practical or necessary at all, they are just symbols of the financial status and ego of their owners. They are a climate and public safety disaster that have no reason to be so widely used.
Electric vehicles are not a solution. We don’t need electric oversized metal monsters on the roads, we need to get rid of them entirely in favour of robust and accessible public transport and cycling options.

The governments that claim to act in the interest of the public have not acted on this epidemic, so activists chose to take the matter into their own hands and keep these murderous machines off the roads for some time.

More information on the motivations behind this movement and how it can easily be replicated by others is available at tyreextinguishers.com.

A69 freeway: two arsons targeted the construction site, according to prime contractor Atosca

Ouest France, June 10, 2025

On Monday June 9, 2025, two fires destroyed bridge formwork on the A69 motorway construction site, according to Atosca, the main contractor and future operator for this disputed freeway.

“These are acts of vandalism that took place over the weekend, arson,” explained a company spokeswoman. She added that the fires had occurred on Monday morning, one in the commune of Vendine (Haute-Garonne) and the other in Teulat (Tarn). “These are formworks [around bridges under construction] that were completely destroyed by the flames, and this will force us to redo them”, she added, indicating that the company had “lodged a complaint”.

The damage comes after the courts authorized the resumption of work at the end of May, following the cancellation of environmental authorizations by the Toulouse administrative court at the end of February. During a visit by Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot on April 4, Atosca reported that it had recorded 419 incidents, giving rise to 212 complaints since work began.

Traffic report from the Randstad (Netherlands)

In one of Europe’s most densely populated regions, the unceasing flow of traffic, along roads, tracks, pipelines and cables, is a prerequisite for the functioning of the mega machine that holds us all hostage, leaving only destruction in its wake. When the smooth functioning of this infrastructure breaks down, even for a few hours, it can have a cascading effect, interrupting the logistics required by the war machine, capitalism, and the state.

This past month traffic in the Randstad was a bit more chaotic than usual.

Major road closures aggravated the usual rush hour traffic; half of Amsterdam’s ring road was closed for the weekend of the 21/22 of June for an overhyped celebration of the city’s 750 year anniversary.

The following week the highway between Schiphol airport and the Hague was blocked off as part of a massive security operation to ensure the safe transport of the world’s most prominent war criminals to the NATO summit.

Aside from these planned inconveniences there were also a few unannounced interventions in the usual flows of traffic.

The unusual activity began the weekend before the NATO conference, when electricity cables were cut near the World Forum in the Hague, where the meeting was set to take place. After an extensive investigation authorities claim to have found the culprit, a fox, who was supposedly spotted on camera around where the cut occurred. Greetings and solidarity to the fugitive fox.

Throughout the week there were several DdoS attacks against the NATO office and online portals of the municipality of the Hague. Many, but not all, of which were claimed by a pro-Russian hacktivist group. Service provider Odido also reported network issues, however they claim that the the disruption was unrelated to the summit. Although many of these actions played out within the framework of interstate conflict, it is always interesting to take note of when and how the communications infrastructure that connects domination is interrupted.

Monday morning Extinction Rebellion attempted to block the A44 highway leading to the Hague. Police intercepted the demonstration before it reached the highway so activists continued their gathering in a nearby field, before being arrested.

During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday the NATO innovation fund (Westermarkt 2) was redecorated when anonymous artists threw several paint bombs at the building. A post on indymedia cite the fund’s investment in dual (civilian-military) use infrastructure, like AI, as a motivation for the action.

Early Tuesday morning trains between Amsterdam, Utrecht, and Schiphol and even further south were disrupted when a fire broke out along the tracks near the airport, damaging 25 cables over a length of 30 meters. The fire caused extensive damage, in part because it destroyed a 3kV cable, and took a whole day to repair. It is believed to be the result of arson, but authorities remain puzzled as to who would do such a thing. Speculating that it could be the work of state actors, activists, or even… copper thieves?

Tuesday afternoon the disruptions continued when an overhead cable mysteriously snapped near Gouda, stranding several trains and shutting down service between Utrecht and the Hague. A journalist who happened to be on one of the stranded trains reported hearing a conductor say that the cable had been pulled down. May every cable snap.

Wednesday morning, shortly after the damage done by the fire on Tuesday had been repaired, train service was interrupted again between Amsterdam Zuid and Schiphol. It is unclear what exactly caused the disruption, which has vaguely been labeled “a technical issue.”

Later on Wednesday there was another intervention on the rails, this time on the train tracks near the harbor in Rotterdam. Activists blocked the train tracks for several hours, preventing freight from entering or exiting the harbor. Expect a delay in the delivery of your Amazon packages.

To round off the unexpected occurrences around the NATO summit a military vehicle spontaneously caught fire in Rotterdam on Wednesday. One can only hope that the flames burned bright enough to ignite the imagination of would-be rebels.

Anarchists and other rebels have a rich history of sabotaging railroads, cables, and the dispersed infrastructure that power empire. Not only is infrastructure easy to strike, the effects are unpredictable and can have ripple effects, spreading the fire of revolt beyond our wildest imaginations. Even though we witnessed the largest security operation in the history of the Netherlands, there have been no reported arrests of foxes or other wild animals that acted under the cover of the night. This makes us wonder; what if there were a hundred foxes chewing, burning and pulling at the cables that power the war machine?

Athens, Greece: Bomb containing 5 sticks of dynamite found outside home of media scum journalist Giannis Pretenteris

An explosive device found in the garden of the one-storey home of well known scum journalist personality Giannis Pretenteris, in the suburb of Neo Psychiko, northern Athens. The device consisted of five dynamite sticks and a timer and it was wrapped in a plastic bag. It is assumed that the perpetrators threw the device over the wall, possibly during the night, but for unknown reasons it did not go off. There was no warning and so far no claim.

Giannis Pretenteris is a typical ‘talking head’ journalist of the newspaper ‘To Vima’ and appears mostly on the disgusting spectacle that is MEGA TV news channel as a contributor to discussions of political content. He is no friend of anarchists speaking out against them, slandering them constantly as terrorists and has done his upmost to defend Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ New Democracy right wing governement. The reason he’s a scumbag has been explained in a previous attack by Direct Action Cells.

From Ang Bayan: NPA Paralyzes Destructive Quarry Operation In Himamaylan City

The New People’s Army (NPA)-South Central Negros (Romeo Nanta Command) sanctioned the destructive quarry operation in Sitio Medel, Barangay Carabalan, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental Province on July 4. The Red army paralyzed and burned two dump trucks and one backhoe.

The quarry equipment belongs to Barangay Carabalan captain Mildred Titular’s business. The total damage to the three quarry machines amounts to an estimated ₱11 million.

NPA-South Central Negros spokesperson Ka Dioneso Magbuelas said residents have long complained about the quarry operation because of its impact on the Paniplan River. He explained that the yearly excavation in the area deepened the river depriving the surrounding farmlands of irrigation.

The quarry operation is severely detrimental to the residents’ lives and livelihood. Crossing the excavation-deepened river has also become dangerous for residents.

Recall that the quarry company forced local residents to sign a “Free, Prior and Informed Consent” or FPIC in 2021 to allow its operations. At that time, the 94th IB was used to intimidate residents, distribute bribe money, and employ other divisive tactics to railroad the quarry operation.

“The NPA-South Central Negros’ punitive action serves as a reminder to companies and individuals against violating the human rights and livelihoods of the people in the name of profit,” Ka Dionesio said. He also warned that the people’s army will not hesitate to defend the people and the environment against quarries, mines, and destructive projects.

“The prevailing Red power in the mountains always stands for justice for the victims of abuse and deception,” Ka Dionesio stated.

Meanwhile, 94th IB troopers have reportedly arrived in Barangay Carabalan following the punitive action of the people’s army. The mercenary army clearly defends the interests of the destructive quarry, landlords, comprador bourgeoisie, and bureaucrat capitalists.

GPS is not Gonna Fucking Kill You.

There is a misconception among some that the mere presence of GPS in any device means that it can be tracked by a government, corporation, or other malicious actor.

It’s actually a pretty reasonable misconception, considering that the most widespread usage of GPS receivers in the world is in smartphones. And unless you have taken some very specific precautions, your smartphone probably is being used to track you in some capacity.

But this is not because GPS is some sort of spy technology that beams your location data to satellites so the satellites can tell you where you are and also your personal FBI guy. The spying comes from the software running on the phone itself and its connection to the terrestrial corporate/government spyware networks.

The reason we’re talking about all this is because some handheld radios are coming out now that have GPS receivers built in. Some people are concerned about this because they intend to use the radios as a method of communication that involves less spying. That’s a complex topic in and of itself, but it’s basically a reasonable thing to do considering some of the alternatives.

GPS is a receive only service. It works based on the principle of time-of-flight and geometric triangulation. Different though it is from celestial navigation, it actually relies on the same basic principle: If you know what time it is and what you’re looking at, you can figure out where you are.

GPS satellites fly on extremely well-known orbits and constantly broadcast a data stream of their position and the current time extremely precisely. Your GPS devices receive this stream from several satellites at once and then use the time difference between transmission (encoded in the stream) and receipt (onboard device clock) to calculate the signal’s time of flight from the known speed of light.

This gives a distance to each satellite, and a known position of each, allowing some basic trigonometry to be used to calculate the receiver’s position. At no point in this process does a receiver transmit any signal.

The reason some radios have GPS built in is because it can be used in conjunction with a service like APRS to squawk out your location to the wider network, or to let team members know where each person is in relation to each other. Either way, this is something that has to be set up intentionally. You will know if you’re broadcasting your location to the world.

Modern GNSS receivers also use the Russian, European, Japanese, Indian, and Chinese GNSS Sat systems in addition to GPS.

While the US government can disable GPS for civilians at will, they cannot detect you through its use. Nor can any of the other nations’ systems.

If you happen to be concerned about internet-connected devices reporting your location to some server somewhere, there are standalone navigation devices that have no network connectivity. Garmin Etrex is one example, but there are plenty of older GPS devices that people used to mount in their cars that can be found inexpensively. The maps can sometimes be updated by loading up an SD card with up-to-date map tiles. You can also use more privacy-respecting navigation tools like OSMAnd or OrganicMaps, or you could learn to use a paper map and compass like your parents did.

https://free-map.org/maps/maps/live-gps-spoofing-and-jamming-tracker-map/

Of much greater concern than spying is GPS jamming and spoofing. Here’s some information about that.
