11 Truists Sabatoged in Soldiarity with fight against Mountain Valley Pipeline

On the evening of February 1st, a small group of friends sabatoged 11 Truist ATMs and branches across Atlanta, in a coordinated attack. Areas targeted included Buckhead, Midtown, Decatur, East Atlanta, and Gresham Park. It was simple enough. We covered cut up gift cards in super glue and jammed them into card slots, and we covered toothpicks in super glue and broke them off in door locks. We left stickers on the ATM screens (and over the ATM cameras) explaining our intent, and left some decorations and messages in self etching paint. Multiple locations were confirmed to be working at reduced capacity the next day.

We took this action in solidarity with those fighting the construction of the Mountain Valley Pipeline in Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina. We admire their commitment to struggle and their furtherance of a rich history of resistance in Appalachia. We feel similarly that all “acceptable” avenues of resistance have been exhausted. Not that they shouldn’t continue to happen, but that we see direct action as our main hope in moving forward. No one is coming to save us, no matter who, how much, or the manner in which we ask. If we want to go down for anything, it should be fighting for everything that we find sacred. It should be for asserting and spreading the existence of a better world that’s already here.

Truist bank contributed 86.7 million dollars to the Mountain Valley Pipeline project and also contributes funds and has affiliations with the Atlanta Police Foundation – and thus Cop City. We chose affluent areas that have been gentrified or are beginning gentrification. The location in Gresham park lies about 3 minutes from the Cop City construction site. This is the very community the project threatens to put at risk.

We hope our message to Truist is absolutely clear: when you seek to make a profit from destroying our earth and people’s lives, expect resistance.

Berlin, Germany: Against environmental destruction, oppression and war – fire for CEMEX concrete plan

Inspired by a series of actions and sabotages against “the world of concrete” in France (2), Belgium and Switzerland, we visited the CEMEX concrete plant on Schleusenufer in Berlin-Kreuzberg in the early hours of December 27 and used fire to stop several concrete mixer trucks and bring the conveyor belt and a technical building to a standstill.

A master among the climate killers

The wasteland of concrete and asphalt continues to spread. In Germany alone, up to 30 hectares of living soil are buried under the most sought-after building material every day. Roads, squares, commercial areas, industrial plants and houses; huge parts of the earth’s surface are already sealed and infrastructure projects such as dams, freeways, bridges, airports etc. consume several billion tons of concrete every year.

All this is not without consequences. Concrete is considered the climate killer par excellence. Almost 10 percent of the carbon dioxide that this system currently blows into the air comes from the cement industry. That is almost three times as much as air traffic. At the same time, concrete production consumes enormous amounts of resources. Sand in particular, which is essential for production, is already in short supply, which is why coastal areas and sometimes entire islands are being dredged worldwide. With devastating effects on the surrounding ecosystems. The increasing sealing of soils also has catastrophic consequences. Urban areas are heating up more and more, while rainwater can no longer seep into the ground. Groundwater reservoirs are not filling up as before, which will lead to water shortages in many places in the long term or has already done so. Drought and aridity are the result of this on the one hand, while flooding and erosion are occurring elsewhere due to increasingly frequent heavy rainfall. More than that, every additional meter of concrete destroys habitats and food sources. The loss of natural ground areas and the lack of vegetation lead to a decline in biodiversity, which has an impact on many animal and plant populations and will result in the extinction of individual species.

We Call for the Continuation of Strikes Against American Interests in the Region: PFLP Statement

The Popular Front praises the resistance’s killing of American soldiers at the Al-Tanf base and asserts that it is a natural response to American crimes in the region.

The Popular Front lauded the heroic operation targeting the American base at Al-Tanf, located on the Syrian-Jordanian border, which resulted in the death of three American soldiers and the injury of dozens. This was a natural response to American crimes in the region and its direct involvement in the zionist genocidal war waged by the zionist entity against the Palestinian people.

The Front saluted the proud arms of the resistance, which refused anything but triumphing for the suffering of our Palestinian people and responding to the ongoing zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip by targeting American and Western presence in the region since the start of the aggression. The moment has come for the United States to pay for its crimes against the peoples of the region, as a direct partner in the heinous zionist crimes against the Palestinian people, and its unlimited support for the zionist entity.

The Front highlighted the significance of this qualitative operation not only because it was the first to officially announce the killing of American soldiers since the onset of the aggression on the Gaza Strip, but also for because of resistance’s ability and boldness in targeting military bases of the most powerful brute force in the world.

The Front stressed that America ignored the warnings of the resistance and the calls of Arab and free peoples to stop its support for the aggression and turn its back on everything happening in Palestine, including the genocide and massacres. Therefore, it must bear responsibility for these devastating outcomes in the region and receive expect responses from the resistance for these crimes.

The Front concluded its statement by calling on resistance factions in the region to continue striking American and Western interests, viewing this as the effective means to stop American support for the zionist entity and to abandon its colonial ambitions in the region.

Kalkan: Guerrillas Are Revealing a New Style of Warfare

Duran Kalkan, member of the KCK Executive Council, talke about the latest developments in Kurdistan, Turkey and the Middle East.

Kalkan said: “The course of the war has now changed. The policies followed by the Turkish state, this AKP-MHP administration, can no longer withstand the guerrilla. On the contrary, the process of the guerrilla crushing them has begun. The guerrillas have taken the initiative. They are now running from success to success; and they will continue to do so.”

In the last few weeks, there have been very successful actions by the guerrilla forces that have dealt heavy blows to the Turkish army and have been widely discussed in the media. What can you tell us about this? What has changed? Will this continue? And how does the war affect the other players in the region?

On behalf of the leadership of the PKK, I congratulate the commanders and fighters of the ‘People’s Defence Forces’ (HPG) and ‘Free Women’s Units’ (YJA-Star) who carried out the revolutionary operation in the name of the martyr Helmet Dêrelûk. This operation has crushed the fascist hordes of the AKP-MHP on the Amediyê mountain in the region of Zap. I salute their historic resistance, their historic resistance that dealt a fatal blow to fascism, their historic resistance, the whole war waged in Zap. I, also, respectfully, gratefully and by expressing my love, commemorate all our heroic martyrs who were martyred by fighting against the colonization of the Medya Defense Zones and all over Kurdistan, by commemorating the comrades Serxwebûn and Rizgar, the heroic martyrs who gave their lives in this operation.

The guerrillas have always resisted and are resisting. But the past months were a period of significant changes in the war. Even the Turkish rulers had to admit this. “We have switched from defense to offense,” is what they said. They gave them all the means of Turkey and used them like a stick. We told them this: This is not only in your hands, someone else can learn it and use it against you. Now Kurdish youth have learned and they are using it. It is obvious what they have become. We have always warned them, we said that they could be defeated, that they were acting dangerously. They did not listen to the warnings of our ‘Central People’s Defense Command’ (NPG). Now they are experiencing this. In the middle of winter, they scattered and threw those fascist hordes that they had paid for on the tops of the mountains. Now they can’t protect them, they can’t even pull them back. Then, of course, when they are shot, they act surprised, and say that traitors came and shot them. How did they come and shoot them? Which traitor are you talking about? Why did you go there in the first place? This is the situation.

Lessons from Darion Ray Sexton’s Arson Arrest

Darion Ray Sexton was just sentenced to 39 months in prison for allegedly throwing molotovs at an anti-gay, anti-abortion church in Loveland Colorado.

I want to highlight some lessons here so others don’t get caught up. This is written with love and respect for Darion’s tremendous bravery, as well as everyone else fighting for a better world.

#1 Any action using fire, explosives, or firearms will get the FBI and ATF involved.

This means increased scrutiny and investigative resources compared to local police. Weigh the risks of your tactics and consider alternatives if the risks are too great(if the risks outweigh the choice of target, your skills, or comfort). Any action targeting a place of worship will receive increased scrutiny and possible hate crime enhancements as well, even if the target is a hate group.

#2 Don’t leave tracks.

“investigators found footprints in the snow near the church that led into a nearby neighborhood and to Sexton’s house.”

Avoid leaving footprints that investigators can trace back to your location (this can be done using multiple modes of transit, going through well trafficked areas, walking on hard compact surfaces, going an unconventional and confusing route, changing shoes etc.). Leave your phone at home so not to leave digital tracks. If your phone is usually off, turn it off, otherwise leave it on as if you were home sleeping.

#3 Burn your bloc

“A doorbell camera at the church showed a masked person throwing a device at the front door, the complaint says. The person in the video was wearing similar clothing to clothes recovered from Sexton’s house by the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Investigators also found that a plastic bottle found at Sexton’s home was similar to one found in the church basement.”

Dispose of and/or destroy anything in your possession related to the action as quick as possible, without drawing additional attention to yourself. Anything worn or used needs to go. If you can’t afford to throw away a pair of shoes, consider wearing black grocery bags (or better, socks to obscure tread pattern as well) over your shoes for the duration of the action.

Wear inconspicuous clothes for the action that you have never worn before. A NRA hat may get you out of a stop(being stopped in the vicinity at all will make you a suspect). Thrift stores are your friend, but heed warning #4.

#4 Space out action related purchases

“surveillance video from a Loveland liquor store two days before the fires showed a man who looks like Sexton buying Admiral Nelson’s Premium Watermelon Rum – the same type of broken glass bottles found at the church, the complaint says.”

Action related purchases should always be made anonymously. This almost always means using cash. There should be a temporal delay(and a distance from the crime and you) between purchase and action that takes into account the severity of the action, how high or low profile you are, and the surveillance capabilities of the store you are purchasing items from. If you can dumpster supplies, that’s even better.

As a general rule, big box stores like Target and Walmart have more sophisticated surveillance systems that store higher quality video for longer. A smaller shop is probably only keeping video footage for 7-30 days, but it is hard to know for certain.

Watermael-Boitsfort (Belgium) : police under fire

Two incidents took place during the night of Friday to Saturday. They took place a few hours apart.

Just before midnight, a police car parked in rue des Nymphes in Watermael-Boitsfort, near the Calypso swimming pool, was targeted with a hail of molotovs. In the end it was a car parked just next to it that caught fire. Agents quickly reached the scene and a “firecracker” then exploded. The two policemen complained of tinnitus. One arrest was made in the crowd after a chase [before releasing the suspect due to lack of evidence].

Two hours later, at around 1.45am it was the turn of the Tritomas police station, situated 500 metres away from the first incident that was targeted. A molotov was thrown on to the vehicle parked outside the building. An incendiary device, assemblage of a Cobras 6 firecracker and a deoderant spray can was also thrown immediately after. « The explosive bounced off the window and ended up on a police car. The facade and the car were damaged.», the police spokesman Marlow declared.

Three Dead in Anti-Government Protests: Haiti

Monday, January 22 was marked by demonstrations and clashes in several towns across Haiti. In Jérémie, at least three people were shot dead near the sub-commissariat, as they tried to mobilize a crowd against the current government.

The attackers, armed individuals wearing balaclavas, were travelling in a car at the time of the attack. The presence of armed civilians seeking to dissuade the opponents of the government had been noted the previous day.

In Ouanaminthe, demonstrators once again took to the streets to demand the government’s resignation. Stones and bottles were thrown at banks and local businesses. Barricades of burning tires blocked Route Nationale 6.

In Miragoâne, activities came to a virtual standstill. Stone-throwing clashes took place and barricades were erected. In the town of Les Cayes, barricades of burning tires and wrecked cars closed off several streets and Route Nationale 7.

I recently spoke to some people who were confused by the “feller buncher communique“, so it seems a refresher is in order. There are many people who participated in the movement to defend the forest, even those who lived in the forest for a time, who never fully learned about the plans to clearcut 155 acres to build a gigantic soundstage complex between the South River and I-285. This area has been under imminent threat of destruction since permits were granted in 2021, AND THE DESTRUCTION IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW!

MLKP Statement on Palestinian Resistance

Like all freedom struggles, the Palestinian resistance is being realized at a very heavy price. The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), one of the leading forces in the struggle against “Israel’s” racist, colonialist, fascist, genocidal war and occupation, is resurrecting its historical revolutionary traditions in the trenches of the resistance.

The students and comrades-in-arms of Comrade Abu Ali Mustafa are fighting for their lives in Gaza against the racist colonialist “Israeli” state. The leading fighters of sacrifice, of commitment to the people’s right to a dignifed, free and happy life, of longing for a democratic Middle East and a socialist world, immortalized in this just, necessary and moral struggle, as members of the PFLP Central Committee and revolutionary leaders of Gaza.

We bow with respect, devotion and love to the memory of Ayman Naim Said Al-Medhun (Abu Muhammad), commander of the PFLP and Awad Al-Sultan (Abu Samoud), member of the PFLP General Central Committee and head of the Martyrs, Prisoners and Wounded Committee and all the Palestinian martyrs.
