Alleged arson attack on Bayer executive’s NJ home – Madison, NJ

Authorities are investigating an alleged arson attack on the Madison, N.J., home of a Bayer executive this week.

The alleged attack took place on March 4 at 7:30 a.m. ET but was put out quickly, according to authorities.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and it is unclear what the motive was behind the attack. The home was purchased for $2.25 million in 2022.

“A fire was reported at an occupied residence on East Lane in Madison,” the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement to Yahoo Finance. “The fire was quickly extinguished by the Madison Fire Department. The structure sustained no significant damage and there were no reported injuries.”

The fire was described by multiple sources as minimal and only affecting the exterior of the house. Evidence of the fire was not visible at the front of the property.

Video cameras from neighbors’ homes captured a potential suspect, but authorities declined to confirm whether they identified a suspect or describe the evidence that led to the incident becoming an arson investigation.

The joint investigation includes the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Arson/Environmental Crimes Unit, Madison Police, Morris County Sheriff’s Office CSI Unit, New Jersey State Fire Marshals Office K-9 Unit, NJ Transit Police, MTA Police Department, and the New York Police Department.

It is unusual for a prosecutor’s office and multiple other agencies to be involved in the investigation of a house fire.

In a statement, Bayer confirmed the incident and the ongoing investigation.

The incident comes during a heightened security environment for the healthcare industry after the tragic, fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson late last year.

That shooting rocked the healthcare industry, prompting peers like CVS to remove the headshots of executives from their websites.

Bayer has been embroiled in a major lawsuit involving an allegedly cancer-causing weed killer since its $63 billion acquisition of crop science company Monsanto in 2018.

‘Targeted’ shooting at home of Oregon worker’s comp insurance CEO

Authorities in Lake Oswego have now publicly said they believe last week’s shooting at the home of the CEO of the state’s workers compensation insurance corporation was “targeted.”

On Wednesday, they also shared a surveillance photo of a person identified as a suspect. The blurry image shows the person wearing all dark clothes with a possible hoodie or ski mask. Police said the person held a light-colored object and had a car parked nearby.

Lake Oswego police officers responded to reports of gunshots at the Melrose Place home of Chip Terhune, the chief executive of the SAIF Corporation, early Friday morning. Police said an unknown suspect fired several rounds into the home and left the area on foot.

Police said the shooting — which is believed to have happened Friday between 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. — caused minor damage to the home, including to the front door. No one was injured.

Athens: Greece: Smashing front windows in multiple supermarkets ,and 1 ATM Bank in Athens by Next door sledgehammers.

What is a broken window doing on the pavement early in the morning? What does the anti-theft in the honey have to do with the control and shaping of our desires? Why aren’t discount offers another solution?

When the questions increase, sometimes you need to break down the wall that separates you from the necessary answers. And if the wall is made of glass, all the better.

The truth is we are impatient. We cannot wait for prices to fall on their own, nor for the state to stop selling us garbage and for supermarkets to serve it to us. However, we just as impatiently long for the smiles of people who do not find the “unexpected” answer to this regime of double poverty. Who turn up to work in the morning, and are happy to see the frightened faces of the scumbags who profit from our food when their property is affected.
We urge that the discontent be found in the shallow, ordinary, everyday exploitation and boredom of capitalist labour. Not in the organization of labour against its bosses. That the ways of creating and meeting needs become common. That we will not forever depend on others in order to live.

The “good” that you can neither buy nor steal, degraded in quality and standardized, nevertheless becomes the dominant object of our desire. Security systems, magnets, cameras, double glazing protect the things we need to live.

Having no direct connection to our basic needs, such as food and body care, we bind our desire to the greedy appetites of the state and the bosses.

Our imagination finds it difficult to free itself from the objects we lack. No matter how much prices rise, we will need supermarkets if we do not take charge of organizing our lives and our needs. We are breaking their windows so that we do not get used to death in stores. In the production-consumption chain, the windows that do not break have our bodies as commodities.
We choose to keep faith in communities that work for the self-evident, which are not related to those of harm and profit. For relationships that do not depend on intermediaries, agents and generally assholes who impose on us how to live.

On Wednesday 18/12 and Thursday 19/12 we carried out a barrage, smashing up the front windows of supermarkets and 1 ATM in the following neighbourhoods of Athens: Glyfada, Kaisariani, Zografou, Kato Patisia, Ilisia, Chalandri, Kypseli

Athens 28/2: Law & Order lost control for few hours (Greece)

May be 500.000 people followed calls from leftist, communist, anarchist groups, student collectives, the relatives of the Tempi victims, the calls for general strike from unions, the calls from organized football hooligans, to join a gathering at Syntagma Square in the center of Athens. see one of the many calls https://athens.indymedia.org/post/1634333/ Biggest gathering since long time. The crowd took over the surrounding avenues from 9 o clock in the morning until early evening. Also participating, voters of ND government, nationalists and few nazis, which got beaten up in between.

The conflict escalated in the last weeks between survivors, relatives of Tempi masscre and the Government about the reasons for the explosion of the commercial train, which collided with the passenger train, two years ago. Allready a month ago, Syntagma saw a huge gathering and exchange of hostility with MAT.

Society is demanding truth and justice, the State offers stupid attempts to cover up the responsibilities. It was anounced to deploy 5.000 police officers for 28. february in Athens to controll the situation, but authorities failed to mobilize them. Because all other cities had demonstrations the same day.

Immediately after the speeches by the relatives had concluded, some hundred people found themselves together and attacked police forces, which guarded the parliament. Some dozens of people decided to seek shelter behind the police forces – after shouting 2 hours “Murderers, Murderers” to them. Other people did not agree with the riots. Many people joined the riots. When the media again calls us provocateurs, the reality on Friday was different. The rioters were part of society. People from all kind of age, gender and “nationality” participated.

The marble steps of the Grande Bretagne Luxury hotel were broken with hammers to pelt stones at the riot police, which were positioned on the grounds of Parliament. After half an hour, more MAT forces managed to clear Syntagma for a while, many people went home. But still big crowds moved in the center, building barricades around Omonia and clashing with police.

Ministry of Citizen Protection said the hooded individuals were members of an active group in the anarchist/anti-authoritarian space, which in previous days had been calling for an “insurrection” on the occasion of Friday’s general strike and rally. Regime media says “other groups of protesters on Syntagma Square began to participate in the rioting, resulting in a momentary loss of control on the part of the police.”

A bigger group of the demonstration was resisting on Syngrou Avenue against the water canons, using marble stones from ancient monuments and attacking the police forces, which guarded the HQ of Hellenic Train. Earlier this morning 25 members of Rouvikonas got arrested on the roof of this building for a bannder drop.
At afternoon people returned to Syntagma for the next round of confrontations. Even if a majority was demonstrating peacefull, the State is loosing ground, if 15% of the metropolis population takes to the streets. Police subsequently said that they made 66 arrests during the day and that 29 officers were injured.

Santiago, Chile: Barricades in memory of the compañeros Lupi, Tortuga, Belén and Risue.

Encapuchados (hooded ones) raised barricades, while at the same time there were demonstrations for the forced disappearance of Julia Chuñil and her dog Cholito. Facts that should not leave anyone indifferent and that show us -once again- that the Power and its accomplices can carry out this type of acts against those who become a nuisance, a threat to their interests.

A banner was left at the site in memory of the recently deceased comrades Lupi, Tortuga, Belén and Risue.

Athens, Greece: Responsibility claim for the attack on the television station ACTION 24

On 25/01/2025 at noon we chose to intervene with sledgehammers and paints at the television station ACTION 24 on Skiathou Street. Our movement was a minimal act of opposition to a medium that systematically reproduces the dominant discourse, consciously supports any decisions of the state, constantly kills characters at the discretion of the authorities, systematically incriminates and denounces victims of trafficking.

The reason for this event was the appeal of the cop-rapist Bougioukos in the case of the 19-year-old girl from Ilioupoli. The channel in question hosted Bougioukos last year after his conviction, in an interview of the rapist-pimp laundering, attempting firstly to recreate his character and reverse reality by incriminating the 19-year-old survivor and abusing her once again. The status of the cop who arrested the bastard seems to have been enough for the channel to placate him as the wrongdoer in the case.

The bastards at ACTION 24 have gotten us used to the whitewashing of abusers and rapists and correspondingly the framing of victims. In this context, we remember the disgusting lawyer Balta who, through his intervention in a channel programme, instructed the acquittal of rapists and the incrimination of female survivors, as a second Balaskas. In the case of the child rapist Lignadis, the station’s management had taken a clear stand against the victims.

ACTION 24 is accustomed to speaking the language of power and advocating for the sovereign, whatever form it takes, be it government, or “justice” and repression. Being one of the media on the Pecha list promotes every action of the current government from the COVID era to the present day. He is involved in justifying the many contradictory and repressive laws that have been passed. It participates in covering up all the scandals that have come to light such as the wiretapping, so many direct assignments and kickbacks, the relations of the National Police. and political figures with the Greek Mafia case and the cover-up of the state murder of Tempi. At the same time, it is complicit in the silencing and suppression of voices opposed to the mainstream system.

The latest incident of journalistic misery was the coverage of the events of Ampelokipi which in full alignment with the lies of the EL.AS. presented our comrades as ruthless terrorists condemning them before the trial. They also considered the death of our comrade Kyriakos Xymitiris as a “gift from God”. Together with the other media, the Greek police and the political leadership paved the way for the arrest of our comrades with dubious evidence even for the democracy they claim to represent.

One understands that the reasons why we stand against this journalistic cesspool based in the neighbourhood of Gravas are innumerable. This area, like others, is characterised by the violence of work, unemployment, repression and patriarchy. Poverty, misery and the abuse of more and more of our fellow human beings are part of everyday life. We have every reason as struggling individuals to oppose domination, its word and those who spread it. ACTION 24 has long since chosen a camp and we are against it.

Athens, Greece: Responsibility claim by the Cells of Offensive Solidarity for the placement of an incendiary device at Kypseli’s ΕΦΚΑ (National Social Insurance Agency)

incendiary device in the early hours of 03/12
at the ΕΦΚΑ office in Kypseli, located on Kefallinias
Street.

Although the device, fortunately for you, did
not ignite, the message remains the same.

Rest assured that with the same operational ease, we can
target any location of our choosing at any time, with a
similar device.

The reason we selected this specific target, among the
many offered by the metropolis, is that it is a key
structure of the state mechanism, one that promotes
destitution, subjugation, and consequently, the
manipulation of the majority of society. The Social
Insurance Agency (ΕΦΚΑ) operates under the
supervision of the Ministry of Labour, which in capitalist
terms means it acts as an executive organ of the
ideological orientation promoted by the current
government.

To clarify, ΕΦΚΑ is responsible for distributing pensions
of a mere €426.17, withholding contributions from
workers, freelancers, and farmers, and combating tax
evasion. Taxes for farmers exceed 50%, and for
freelancers, they surpass 75%. In summary, ΕΦΚΑ
serves as the state’s tax collector, playing a pivotal role in
financing its political agenda and legitimizing its
existence. But when words fail, numbers speak.

Revenues for the years 2024 and 2025 (approximately)
amounted to about €51 billion, while expenses for social
security funds were around €50 million. This means only
0.1% of the revenue is returned to society.

ΕΦΚΑ is the hand that gives a pittance to the beggar’s
outstretched hand—a currency whose value is dictated
by the state and government, within the predefined
trajectory imposed on the modern wage slave, who
defines themselves based on how productive and
disciplined they have been within the capitalist machine,
perpetually chasing class advancement and social status
validation. Moving beyond the confines of sterile class
analysis, which solely blames the state and capital while
ignoring the responsibility of those consciously trapped
in a condemned life—a life determined by others from
birth, bound by servitude, shackled, and surrounded by
the glitter of capitalist showcases.

In opposition to the world of social consent and
submission, complacency, inertia, and defeatism, against
any logic of delegation and waiting, we choose the path
of direct action, responding with attacks on the world of
power, navigating through the flames of its total
destruction. Every call for attack is a proposal for social
disengagement, a rupture with all forms of authority, a
call for the destruction of the existing order.

With armed hands and words, with a broken heart, and
the name of a street etched in memory, we carried out
this attack in memory of the armed revolutionary
Kyriakos Ximitiris and in solidarity with the anarchist
comrade Marianna M., who is held captive in the
dungeons of bourgeois democracy. Walking the path of
insubordination, dispute, and attack—a path stained with
the blood of those who, unrepentant, chose frontal assault
on the state and power—every step we take remains
unwavering in its purpose.

For every comrade who bore the heavy cost of revolutionary prospects and insurgent action, we promise that with each passing day, as long as our feet tread this earth, we will cut off the heads of our oppressors and dismantle everything they have built with
their filthy hands. Comrade, may you have good
incursions in the valley of eternal silence.

Strength to imprisoned comrade K.K., accused of arson
on a police service van in Mesolongi.

Solidarity to all those prosecuted in the Ambelokipi case.

prisoners mutiny on c wing – hmp swaleside, uk

Prisoners in HMP Swaleside, C wing, have taken over that wing and staff

have retreated. We don’t have any more information at the moment. The reasons behind this are probably the bad conditions they’re under, lack of staff, lack of sanitary products, slavery wages and inconsistency onb the timetable (leading to being locked up more time and don’t know what their routine is). We’ll be updating when we get more information.

Please share! No one is free until all are free!

Plus there’s been a letter sent to the governor of HMP Swaleside from IWOC/IWW on behalf of G wing (Ryan Roberts is held there for the Bristol KTB riot) and some prisoners have been on the netting between the floors to protest for the bad conditions and just day to day degredations.

Fare Evaders Give Middle Finger To MTA Placing Spikes At Subway Turnstiles

January 17, 2025

New York City’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has installed spikes at subway stations to stop turnstile jumpers—and they don’t seem to be working.

An unidentified subway rider wasn’t fazed by the visible spikes at the 59th Street/Lexington Avenue station, jumping right over them. Sporting a Rick and Morty sweatshirt, he carefully placed his left hand on the metal spikes to jump over the turnstile pole just in time to walk onto the train approaching the station.

No one stopped him.

“Oh, so now I gotta jump over it? OK, I don’t give a f–k, I’ll jump over it,” the man was overheard saying.

Train riders were seen going to their old tricks to avoid paying a fare for the subway. One man pushed right through the turnstiles.

The MTA thought the move would help crack down on riders avoiding paying a fare. The metal sheet with sharp edges was placed on both the top and sides of the turnstiles between each gate entrance at the station. Fare evasion costs the MTA a pretty penny—close to $500 million each year. This effort isn’t the agency’s first time trying to combat the problem.

In 2023, new electric gates installed were thought to do the trick. But after a TikToker went viral for revealing how easy it was for the doors to be activated with a simple swipe of a hand over the exit sensor, authorities had to revisit the plan.

Turnstile jumpers were not the only ones unimpressed with the spikes. “I don’t think it’s going to prevent anyone from jumping the turnstiles,” rider Veronica Pisani said. “I see fare evasion all the time. People will find a way. I just don’t really think this is [an effective] preventative measure.”

The spikes are part of a plan handed down by Gov. Kathy Hochul to increase subway safety amid a rise in crime. During her State of the State address on Jan. 14, Hochul said, “The MTA will be installing even more barriers in 100 additional stations” in addition to an increase of LED lighting to every station by the end of 2025 as a way to stop the “shameless toll evaders, fare evaders.”

She also announced a partnership with the New York City Police Department to heighten its presence on every subway platform and train for the next six months of 2025, plus the National Guard.

Hochul’s office announced close to 750 officers will be placed throughout the city on top of 300 that will be seen on the train cars themselves.
