Spontaneous demonstration, riots and clashes against the expansion of the Israelian genocidal war(Berlin, Germany, 27th September 2024)

According to reports from several State media and the police, in the night of 27th September, 50 to 100 people caused riots in the Kreuzberg district near the Schlesisches Tor. In one of the videos entitled “Berlin rise up” on Tiktok and Instagram, you see many people spontaneously demonstrating in the streets and shouting slogans against the genocidal war of Israel – supported by the Western accomplices – against the Palestinian population and the recent extension of the killings to Lebanon. The crowd passes by burning materials, including a chemical bath, and spilled construction material. Several fireworks are set off.

According to state media and the cops, during the “riots”, stones and bottles were thrown at the police officers who arrived on the spot to keep away this crowd of German pro-Israeli “state reasons”. For example, the windows of a police vehicle were broken, forcing the policemen to retreat.

The protesting crowd managed to escape before more thugs arrived, resulting in only a few arrests.

In addition, one of the reports released by the media reports that the logo of the McDonalds branch in Kreuzberg was destroyed. The McDonalds franchise – like other US fast food chains – is suffering a worldwide boycott due to public relations campaigns in favour of, among others, the Israeli army, and as a result it is recording very high sales losses.

Athens Dockworkers Block Ammunition Shipment Bound for Zionist Regime

Workers at the Piraeus Port in Athens successfully blocked a shipment of ammunition bound for Israel in a late-night action on October 17. Following a call to action by the dockworkers’ union ENEDEP, port workers and activists mobilized to prevent a container of bullets, designated for the port of Haifa, from being loaded onto the ship Marla Bull, owned by Zionist company ZIM Integrated Shipping Services.

In addition to ENEDEP, the action was supported by several workers’ organizations, including the Labor Center of Piraeus and unions of metalworkers and the shipbuilding industry. The workers declared they would not be complicit in the Zionist regime’s ongoing genocide in Gaza by allowing the container to sail, as its cargo would be used to kill more Palestinians.

As a result of the action, the Marla Bull was forced to leave the port without the shipment. According to local Palestine solidarity groups, the container remains near the port, guarded by workers and awaiting more investigation by port authorities.

During the action, workers demanded “disengagement from the imperialist plans and their consequences that turn our country and Piraeus Port into a target for retaliation.” They added that Piraeus should not serve as a “base of war.”

“In a port where we fight daily for better living and working conditions for ourselves and our children, there is no place for the butchers of the people,” ENEDEP asserted.

A delegate from the General Union of Palestinian Workers, Mohamed Iqnaibi, commended the workers for their solidarity, stating that Palestinian workers continue to draw strength and courage from their struggles. Similarly, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) praised the action, stating that the working class has shown its strength and is standing on the right side of history.

The party emphasized that the workers’ resistance sends a message of solidarity with the people of Palestine and Lebanon, opposing “the ‘strategic allies’ of the bourgeoisie who support the murderous state of Israel and other Euro-Atlantic butchers of the people.”

In June of this year, workers at Piraeus Port already refused to handle cargo from the ship MSC Altair over concerns that it would be used in the Zionist regime’s ongoing attacks on the Gaza Strip. Their determination and resistance are a testament to the working class’ commitment to solidarity and peace, in contrast to the political elites’ complicity in the regime’s crimes.

While the Marla Bull’s cargo was successfully blocked, questions remain about what will follow. According to some reports, workers involved in the action could face legal persecution. However, ENEDEP remains resolute in its support for the liberation of Palestine and the Palestinian people.

Freedom for Georges Abdallah! — Belgium/France

More than 50,000 people demonstrated on the 20th in Brussels against the genocide in Gaza, for Palestine and Lebanon and, as always, the demand for the release of George Abdallah was highlighted. It was also an opportunity to recall that Georges will be in his 40th year in prison on October 24. October 24 is therefore the occasion of an international day of action for the release of Georges Abdallah, wherever possible, but also in front of the Lannemezan prison where, as every year, a demonstration will be held on the 26th. There will also be a gathering on the 24th to 7pm in front of the City Hall of Paris.

Protesters Storm Prison in Bangladesh as Uprising Spreads

Student protesters in Bangladesh on Friday stormed Narsingdi prison, freeing 800 prisoners, and staged rallies in the capital Dhaka despite a police ban on gatherings and a widespread internet shutdown.

Since the beginning of July, a massive movement, launched by students, has called for the repeal of a law promoting access to the public service to the relatives of the veterans of the 1971 independence war.

This law is, in fact, perceived as unfair to the unemployed graduates in a country where the average age is just over 27 years old and where young people lack the future prospect (according to data from the Statistics Office Bangladesh (BBS) in March, 39.88 percent of young people aged 15 to 24 do not work, are not in training or do not study).

These massive demonstrations (sometimes bringing together several hundred thousand people) were welcomed with brutal state repression, as police have used real bullets and at least 105 and possibly as many as 133 people have been killed in the protests.

The government has also deployed the army and called on paramilitary units such as border guards and the rapid action battalion, known for their history of human rights violations. The government has cut the country’s internet, closed schools and universities and arrested several opposition leaders.

These measures did not dissuade the movement which assumed the escalation by burning official buildings and a television channel, attacked police stations and stormed the Narsingdi prison, leading to the escape of 800 prisoners. In addition, at least two police officers died in the clashes.

This Friday, the government imposed a strict curfew with an order to “shoot on sight” throughout Bangladesh to try to end the movement. Without success, until present, since thousands of people still demonstrated yesterday in Rampura (Saturday July 20) against the curfew.

The uprising has emerged as a momentous challenge to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s autocratic government after 15 years in office.

Student protesters stormed a jail in the central Bangladeshi district of Narsingdi and freed the inmates before setting the facility on fire.

“Our protest will continue,” said Sarwar Tushar, who joined a march in the capital and sustained minor injuries when it was violently dispersed by police.

“We want the immediate resignation of Sheikh Hasina. The government is responsible for the killings.”

At least 52 people were killed in the capital on Friday, according to a list drawn up by the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Police fire was the cause of more than half of the deaths reported so far this week, based on descriptions given by hospital staff.

Protesters had on Thursday torched, vandalised and carried out “destructive activities” on numerous police and government offices.

Among them was the Dhaka headquarters of state broadcaster Bangladesh Television, which remains offline after hundreds of incensed students stormed the premises and set fire to a building.

Nearly half of Bangladesh’s 64 districts reported clashes on Thursday.

More than 700 people had been wounded throughout Thursday including 104 police officers and 30 journalists.

Fiery Outing at Playa Ancha University for the Land and Against Capital ( Chile)

On Thursday June 27 at the UPLA, barricades were erected, pamphlets were spread, banners were raised, and confrontations took place against the presence of the COP (gendarmes) in the context of the commemoration for the defense of the land against ecocidal extractivism. In this direct action at the port, attention was drawn to Felipe Ríos, currently facing repression and held hostage by the social democratic police state.

Pamphlets and banners read: “Felipe Ríos is with us. Freedom to prisoners”. “Dealers and cops, the same bullshit. Take up your weapon, let them know that their faces are the targets of our bullets”, “freedom for subversive prisoners” and “the promised land is nothing but subdued land. Autonomy and freedom”.

Green Scare snitch has book event disrupted in Bloomington, IN.

Green Scare snitch David Agranoff was shouted down at the beginning of his book talk in Bloomington, IN on April 7th, 2024. We distributed fliers with his picture and information to the event attendees, and we called him out for the coward and snitch that he is. He and an event organizer quickly took it upon themselves to collect the fliers and physically usher us out of the event. He replied with some retorts about how “we weren’t there”, asking “what have you done for the movement?”

David seems to believe enough time has passed, and that he should be able to move in spaces without consequence. He wants to claim positive contributions towards the struggle for animal and earth liberation, despite the reality that he is a part of its undoing. David might be on the periphery of vegan, straightedge punk scenes, where people are perhaps not familiar with his past. David will always be a threat to those around him, especially as the State is ramping up its use of social associations as grounds for investigation. Once someone has cooperated, they can be called on to do so again.

Look for him around his home (San Diego, CA as cited on his blog on 1/21/24), and perhaps giving a talk on one of his corny-looking books in a town near you! David runs a blog (https://davidagranoff.blogspot.com), has an instagram (Count.Agranoff), and has another book coming out soon from Anti-Oedipus Press (@antioedipuspress). More information about his cooperation, and information about other Green Scare snitches, can be found at: https://animalliberationpressoffice.org/NAALPO/snitches/

Cooperation is never an option. Remember, some anarchists never forget a betrayal!

Argentina: Clashes During National Strike in Defense of Food Aid

The Unión Trabajadores de la Economía Popular (UTEP) and left-wing organizations mobilized this Monday in various regions of Argentina, to protest against the lack of food in canteens and soup kitchens.
In the capital, Buenos Aires, more than 500 pickets and demonstrations blocked access to the streets. However, the Minister of Public Security had put in place a special protocol to limit the impact of these actions, using extensive federal police resources. This protocol sometimes led to clashes between demonstrators and police.
Clashes took place mainly in Puente Saavedra and Puente Pueyrredón (CABA), two of the day’s main concentration points. In Avellaneda, on Avenida Mitre, a police cordon was set up to stop the advance of demonstrators marching towards the bridge with the intention of obstructing traffic.
As they tried to cross the cordon, a group of demonstrators began throwing stones at the police, who responded with tear gas. The confrontation ended in pushing and shoving. In Puente Saavedra, police advanced on demonstrators blocking Maipú Avenue on the Vicente López side and expelled them using pepper spray. The demonstrators responded by throwing stones at the police.
The political situation is explosive since Javier Milei was elected president and is threatening and actively implementing one of the most dracoian austerity regimes in the world.
